2. Eli and Edith Broad Art Museum

On the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, the Eli and Edith Broad Art Museum is an architecturally-striking 46,000 square-foot facility dedicated to contemporary art. The MSU Broad is home to more than 7,500 items in the permanent collection, as well as a variety of temporary exhibits, art courses, and other community events throughout the year.

3. Wharton Center

The Bluebonnet Swamp a cypress-tupelo swamp in Baton Rouge. There are hundreds of animal species in the swamp and a diversity of plants. The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center was created in 1997. Guests can stroll the 103-acre nature preserve on paths and raised boardwalks. There are plenty of birds that pass through the area during migration.

The high-quality nature center has displays and gives instruction about preservation and environmental research. The East Baton Rouge Parish Park Systems (BREC) runs The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center.

4. Potter Park Zoo

Spanning more than 100 acres along the banks of the Red Cedar River, Potter Park Zoo is home to more than 500 animals across over 150 species. The zoo features habitats ranging from the native natural habitat of the nearby Red Cedar River, to Siberian tundra and African jungle. Popular exhibits include the snow leopard, African lions, tamarin monkeys, kangaroos, red pandas, and penguins.

The Capitol’s magnificent cast-iron dome towers 267 feet above the city, and the exquisitely-furnished interior features floors of Vermont marble, limestone, and translucent glass, ornately-carved wood, as well as murals and frescos painted throughout.

The Capitol has undergone significant restorations completed in 1992 and 2016, with tours offered throughout the year.
